​The Regulator is responsible for the regulation of prices, terms and conditions for water and sewerage services. Independent regulation of water and sewerage prices in Tasmania commenced on 1 July 2012.

The Regulator must determine prices in accordance with the pricing principles contained in the Water and Sewerage Industry Act 2008 (Industry Act) together with the additional pricing principles in the Water and Sewerage Industry (Pricing and Related Matters) Regulations 2021 (Pricing Regulations).
