In accordance with the Taxi and Hire Vehicle Industries Act 2008, the Regulator is required to make a reserve price determination for Owner‑Operator Taxi Licences from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2029 for each calendar year and each of the 24 taxi areas in Tasmania.

Before the Regulator makes its reserve price determination, the Taxi and Hire Vehicle Industries Act 2008 requires the Regulator to conduct an investigation to gather information to assist the Regulator in making the reserve price determination.

The Regulator's final reserve price determination must be made on or before 1 December 2025.​

Terms of Reference

Terms of reference for this investigation have been given to the Regulator by the Minister for Transport and the Treasurer in accordance with section 66E(2)(b) of the Taxi and Hire Vehicle Industries Act 2008.
