Aurora Pay As You Go Price Comparison Reports

Aurora Pay As You Go (APAYG) was a prepayment option offered by Aurora Energy to residential customers as an alternative to having electricity supplied under Aurora Energy's tariffs with regulated, standing offer prices.

APAYG prices were not regulated. However, the Regulator is required, under the Electricity Supply Industry Act 1995, to issue a report annually that compares prices under a pre-payment meter system with all other relevant electricity prices for small customers in Tasmania (a prepayment price comparison report).

Aurora Energy decommissioned APAYG during 2019 and 2020 and APAYG customers have transferred to other Aurora Energy products or chosen to purchase electricity from other retailers.

There are currently no prepayment options available to small customers in Tasmania. As a consequence of this decision, the Regulator released its last prepayment price comparison report, titled APAYG Price Comparison Report, in August 2019.
