​​Country Energy surrenders its licence to retail gas in Tasmania, effective 1 July 2010

The Regulator received notice, dated 10 June 2010, of the surrender of the Tasmanian Gas Retail Licence held by Country Energy, who requested that the surrender take effect on 1 July 2010.

Section 36 of the Gas Act 2000 requires that at least six months notice of the surrender be given to the Regulator. However, as Country Energy has not entered into a retail contract with any Tasmanian customers, an effective date of 1 July 2010 for the surrender of the retail licence was agreed to by the Regulator.

TRUenergy Pty Ltd surrenders its licence to retail gas in Tasmania, effective 1 July 2009

The Regulator received noti​ce, dated 1 July 2009, of the surrender of the Tasmanian Gas Retail Licence held by TRUenergy Pty Ltd and requested that the surrender take effect on 1 July 2009.

Section 36 of the Gas Act 2000 requires that at least six months notice of the surrender be given to the Regulator. However, as TRUenergy Pty Ltd has not entered into a retail contract with any Tasmanian customers, an effective date of 1 July 2009 for the surrender of the retail licence was agreed to by the Regulator.
