Instrument of Delegation

The Electricity Industry Safety and Administration Act 1997 (EISA Act) sets out provisions ensuring that electrical contractors and workers are appropriately qualified and regulated. It also establishes safety standards for electrical articles and provides for the investigation of accidents in the electricity industry. Section 6 provides for the delegation of the Regulator's functions under the EISA Act.

The Gas Act 2000 (Gas Act) provides for a prohibition on the supply or sale of certain gas appliances or components. Several of the functions of the Director of Gas relating to this prohibition and the recall of applicances or components have been delegated to the Director of Gas Safety and the Manager Gas Safety, Workplace Standards Tasmania.
